It beats, the heart of Malibu in summertime, and if you can tune into it, you can attune your heart to its sound and song.

I love waking to a concert of birdsong ... supported by the percussion of booming waves and the frothy reverberation of the surf as it retreats into gurgling sands, inviting the pipers to take the stage.

I love freeing my feet to bare my soles to the sand, each step, an imprint of my soul.

I am reminded to play .... by dolphins and pelicans riding the waves beside the surfers ... dolphins back flip and pelicans feather dip as they skim the tube on sympathetic winds.

I love that summer days in Malibu are bracketed by ritual ... salutations to cotton candy sunrises and exhalations to rainbow sunsets before the lights dim to honor the stars - and the wildlife guided by them.

I quiet my mind, reconnect with my heart, inhale and exhale with nature and, with gratitude, mark my graceful endings and beginnings by setting my sights on the ever present horizon.
